Combat Tips for Final Fantasy

Don't be afraid to use magic. Don't be so obsessive about conserving magic for bosses that you get your hp knocked down by randoms because you don't kill them quickly enough.
Be careful about how you divide up your Materia. Don't make little classes like 'Healer' 'Fighter' etc. A mistake that I made was putting all my cures and heals on Tifa, all my offensive on Cloud, and buffing up Barret to be pure physical. It was really bad when a boss eliminated one of my people - be sure to divide up your Materia fairly evenly.
Not combat, but be sure to nab Yuffie in the forest between Condor and Junon.
Get Vincent in Shinra Mansion by repeated talking to him in his casket.
